We have the materials for the static test. We plan to do one static test and fly the Q motor this next month with the gimbaled nozzle.
I'm getting married next month as well and we will launch the rocket on our honeymoon ![]() I've been working on the vacuum system for a small fusor to work up to building a bigger model with the klystron to test my theory and I'm looking at trying out some Skylon type experiments with a precooler on a standard turbine as a possible air breather first stage. Monroe Oh I finally got the forum cleaned up somewhat and I'll update all those old post with our progress this far with the launch site, ground control and guidance progress. Also we have another plane drop coming up with NTNS. _________________ Today's the day! We go into Space! |

The NSE 18/NTNS-4 launch will be on the 19th of October if all goes well.

On this flight we tied the world RC aircraft speed record at 498 MPH. Next we redesign a craft for rocket launch using the same guidance system and ground control. We hope to set a new world RC speed record on the next flight. Booster test on the 26th!

Thanks guy's I take a lot of guff for my efforts and it's nice to get a little back up sometimes. It was a long time coming to get this far. There's some more coming. I'd really like to update the forum and really show what we have done in the area of ground control and tracking. I have done it backwards from most by trying to build the launch infrastructure and the ground station and tracking more than work on rockets. But we are moving in the direction of more and bigger rockets and hopefully we will get more support and I'll be able to update all the topics with where we are now compared to where we where.
It's funny a rich guy does stuff and everybody wants in on it regular guy's struggle and make great strides and nobody cares. Anyway thanks a bunch for the kind words! Monroe _________________ Today's the day! We go into Space! |

Way to go Monroe! Can't wait to see your booster work
![]() You've been waiting a long time for a record, congrats on the tie! 498MPH is really booking it! Was it powered or unpowered? How does it stack up against the same class of vehicle? Was the recovery accomplished intact? Was it controlled flight in the upper atmosphere or did you just fall really fast? If you can send me the video + timestamped attitude data I'll run stabilization on it and we can try to get you on the HN frontpage like Caleb. _________________ Cornell 2010- Applied and Engineering Physics Software Developer Also, check out my fractals |

Monroe,
You are in there doing the hard work and making important things happen, and that’s just the marriage! There’s also the small matter of founding a record setting aerospace company. There are so many who are all hat and no cattle and so few who are all cattle and who cares about the dang hat! Couldn’t be prouder. Best wishes to both of you. |

We had a very successful launch and recovery of our solid rocket booster today! What a month! I've got more HD video than I can edit in several months. I've got to do a report on the last 2 missions.
We came a huge leap forward this month we now have all the hardware we need now we just have to get it all working together as one complete vehicle/launch system. Monroe _________________ Today's the day! We go into Space! |
