Well if your plasma supercavity engine works, and you couple it with some neat heat transfering meta materials /to shield and move heat in a controlled stream/, and high temperature superconductors /to shield the sensitive stuff from the magnetic fields/, we might even be able to construct machines to plunge into the corona of the sun just for the hell of it. /pun intended/:)
Heck we could develop an engine with enough shielding, that skimms the sun corona, accelerating deep down in the suns gravity well to hundreds if not thousands of km/s, then leave the solar system to the stars. The only issue is our bodies wouldn't be able to go on this journey probably, but then again we wouldn't last the eons in interstellar space anyway in this frail form. So all we need now is neat bio/nanotechnology to enable ourselves be copied onto more lasting computers than our brains, and we are set to go on the journey of our existence! In a couple of hundred million years we could spread life throughout the galaxy, find the others, or if there aren't any create them. Then we can sit out and watch things like our galaxy merge with Andromeda. Heck we could even try to outrun the expansion of the universe and get as far as possible. What a life it would be. ![]() _________________ "SCREW THE RULES, WE HAVE MONEY!" http://www.freespaceships.com |

@box's brain box comments...
First..... put a cuttlefish in a fishtank.... with projectors aimed at pieces of paper on the glass...... then put the whole thing in a FMRI machine, change input, detect processing methodology, and examine output (skin color and shape) Infer the inner workings of our current system... look into http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memristor and then look at node logic and then look at semantic memory arrangement, and then look into randomness seeding and then build it ![]() _________________ Let not the bindings of society hold you back from improving it.... the masses follow where the bold explore. |
