Found an article about dusty plasma, odd stuff,
Self assembled crystal lattices in the plasma, and low temp, high static plasmas, non newtonian and superfluid dust plasmas, Odd stuff, if a way to get to space cheap is anywhere, I think its there,

Might actually be a problem that makes interstellar travel difficult if there is enough "wrong way" charged plasma and molecular grains of grit in the local cloud that we are travelling thru that can't be pushed aside or funneled into a MHD.

Hitting a tiny piece of sand at even a low percentage of C is rather... hazardous.

Well, that's why you need a deflector dish...

The thought was that nano particles could be used to make dusty plasmas to do tasks, like shields, self assembled filaments, and maybe even whole large structures, when the charge is manipulated, the plasma spontaneously assembles into macroshapes. At low plasma temperature crystaline columns and structures can form in the plasma, Think about a ship that can use its shield to drive through a planetary ring, scoop up plasma, inhale it and cool it and store it as reaction mass, or assemble a plasma filliment with a laser to another orbiting body, and then leave a solid cord behind in the beams path, at zero g , dusty plasma is very low net energy to maintain.
