Here is a primer on a similar design for station keeping http://www.aerostar.com/pdf/ISTS%202000-k-15.pdf this is the balloon discussion If you want a primer on the Ion Engine google "sputering Ion pump" when you have that down we can talk about that in the propulsion thread it will help you understand some parts of the design
