Late 2012 sounds like as good a time as any for a little lunar escapade. I would like to go. This is not a joke either, although I doubt it'll become reality.
As a sidenote, Google Ads aptly chose to display an ad for 2012-comet.com, a site with lots of neat theories about how something big is going to happen in 2012 and that we could all die. Another reason to want to go to the moon in 2012 besides the obvious? ;) |

i read that 2012 was the year the Mian? calendar says the world will end! ... sketchy memory about it all though! if there is something leaving, il jump onboard to then haha

Mayan. And yes, 2012 is the year. I read about it on that site :D
But not only is the mayan calender ending, our solar system is passing through the center of our galaxy and close to some gravitational force that could upset tides or something, And it's an election year! COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT! Just kidding of course. I would like to go to the moon to help establish a colony and get rich slowly, not because I think the world is ending. If it was, not even the moon would be safe. |

While I think that carrying your google rover 500 metres will qualify, that might be a bit overkill.
