And equally depressingly, according to the oft-used analogy of space exploration with the exploration and colonization of the Americas, it will take several centuries before settlements are actually established...

Our only hope is for private industry to make it to the moon. It will happen eventually but I'd sure like to see it myself.

Not much to see that day and 60kft is not all that high. Besides that the camera wasn't all that great either.
